Fucked Up is a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2001. The band consists of Damian Abraham (vocals), Mike Haliechuk (guitar, vocals), Josh Zucker (guitar), Ben Cook (guitar, vocals), Sandy Miranda (bass) and Jonah Falco (drums, vocals). To date the band has released five studio albums, alongside several EPs, singles, and companion releases. The band won the 2009 Polaris Music Prize for their second studio album, The Chemistry of Common Life

Litany" is the kind of album were I to do a death metal album I'd pick for its production. Unlike lots of death and black metal, bass player Shambo plays real bass, meaning it's super deep and rumbles below the guitars instead of alongside in a metallic tone that is practically unneeded. Thus, the songs have a much heavier and deeper feel to them, adding that dimension of bass that way too many bands are moving away from. It's a fairly short CD, clocking in at about 35 minutes, but an album of this level of attack doesn't really need to be any longer.
