The album has been lauded in many quarters as one of the best examples of a career retrospective for a rock artist, and as a template for the box set collections that would follow in the 1980s and beyond. Previously unreleased; appeared on certain acetate pressings of Tonight's The Night.

Winterlong is the brainchild and early home of now Sabaton guitarist Thorbjörn Englund. Proving to be purveyors of some of the finest neo-classical Nordic power metal to have come out of Scandinavia in the 21st century. So instead Thorbjorn took the decision to create Winterlong’s fourth album alone with a new sound, The result was Metal/Technology which saw heavier Pantera style riffs coupled with Thorbjörn Englund handling all other instrumentation and vocals himself. Whilst this is a departure from the traditional Winterlong sound, Englunds guitar trademarks are still here in spades.

Winterlong is a Swedish power/progressive metal band formed in the beginning of 1998. Before that, in 1995, Hussni Mörsare and Erik Tornberg decided to start playing guitar. And, as the interest in playing guitar grew, they met Thorbjörn Englund and thought that he was the coolest guitarist in their hometown.

Swedish Power Metal band Winterlong are back with their third album, simply entitled Winterlong. The band is probably best known for their founder and guitarist Thorbjon Englund, who can best be described as a Neo-Classical guitarist, much in the same vein as one Mr. Malmsteen. After hearing this release, though, some of the spotlight should be shifted to the band’s vocalist Mikael Holm and drummer Leif Eriksson. The duo put on quite a shining performance on this album
