Acid Reign are an English thrash metal band, originally active from 1985 to 1991. The band rebooted in 2015 with just H remaining from the original line up. Acid Reign were formed by drummer and keyboardist Mark Ramsey Wharton, bassist Ian Gangwer (originally Peter Warriner), singer Howard "H" Smith, and future Cathedral member, guitarist Gary "Gaz" Jennings. Second guitarist Kevin "Kev" Papworth joined in 1987.

Where the two previous releases were more impersonal and a somewhat pleasant and more or less successful re-adaptation of a NY Thrash Metal sound sometimes leaning on DRI's crossover, Obnoxious puts on far more personal colors giving Acid Reign their own distinctive style. A style that is willingly introspective and that puts aside the more festive a la Anthrax side of their previous recordings to explore subjects as various as societal problems on Codes Of Conformity or even personal issues.

Yet Acid Reign managwed this and produced a great EP 'Moshkinstein' and 1st album 'The Fear'. Thus witht their 2nd LP, expectations were high. Unfortunately, the album came out to a backdrop of a) And Justice For All b)increased apathy towards thrash and appreciation of death metal. So to stand out as a thrash metal opus, the record would need to be both technically adept, and supported by a commited touring band. Obnoxious' is very badly done, in a number of ways. For a start, pink is NOT a good colour for a cover. The packaging looks cheap and rushed, with very little thought put into it.
