Charlie Parker with Strings is the name of two separate albums by jazz musician Charlie Parker, released in 1950 on Mercury Records. It is also the name of a 1995 compilation album released by Verve Records, containing all the tracks from both the 1950 albums, as well as additional material. The sessions place Parker in the context of a small classical string section and a jazz rhythm section, rather than his standard bebop quintet.

9% of Charlie Parker's record catalogue is free from string arrangements. Only two volumes of original vinyl titled "Charlie Parker with Strings" contain string arrangements. Yet some critics, even on this site, have registered their dismay and dislike for Bird accompanied by strings. The album proved an international best seller and the most financially successful in Charlie Parker's record catalogue. It also had the added benefit of exposing Bird's more serious work to a mass audience. Not everyone "got it" but, thanks to the string project, more of the public opened their hearts, soul and ears to this art form.
