Combustible Edison – Schizophonic! Genre: Electronic, Jazz, Rock. Style: Lounge, Space-Age, Future Jazz, Avantgarde. This album is as colourful as lounge music can be: exotic, mysterious, elegant and charming. Of course it's old-fashion flavoured, but that's part of the purpose: taking the listener away to lost places and forgotten times. Sometimes the guitar sounds Hawaian, sometimes Greek, never dull. Miss Lily Banquette sings in a beautiful and melancholic way, but the backing vocals are especially effective
Combustible Edison, founded in the early 1990s in Providence, Rhode Island, was one of several lounge music acts that led a brief resurgence of interest in the genre during the mid-1990s.
There's not much to distinguish Combustible Edison's second album from their debut. It's another menu of cocktail-nation pop, both vocal and instrumental, with nods to exotica, '60s European soundtracks, bossa nova, the goofy kinds of sounds heard on early stereo demonstration records, and such.

Combustible Edison was a group founded in the early 1990s in Providence, Rhode Island, and was one of several lounge music acts that led a brief resurgence of interest in the genre during the mid-1990s. Before Combustible Edison, the artists known as The Millionaire and Miss Lily Banquette were members of a band called Christmas. The band put out two more full-length discs, Schizophonic! and The Impossible World – and several singles. The band also recorded the soundtrack to the Quentin Tarantino (and others) film Four Rooms, with music produced by Mark Mothersbaugh.
