The Sweet was a compilation album released as Sweet's debut album in the US and Canada, substituting for the 1971 UK album Funny How Sweet Co-Co Can Be. (The band's second album, Sweet Fanny Adams was also not given a US release, but tracks from that and the band's third album Desolation Boulevard were combined on the US version of that album to compensate for this.

Sweet Fanny Adams is the second album by Sweet, their first of two released in 1974, and also their first album simply as Sweet. The album was a turning point and change in the band's sound. It featured more of a hard rock sound than their previous pop records. The album title is English (originally Royal Navy) slang originating from the murder of eight-year-old Fanny Adams in 1867 and means "nothing at all" as well as a similar euphemism ".

I see people discussing which one is the first death, black and doom metal albums, but i never saw a discussion on the first thrash album. Which one would it be? My vote goes for Welcome to Hell from Venom, but i admit it's kinda speedy. my opinion is that kill 'em all was the first "real" thrash album but there's a lot of argument room in that opinion LOL. First real Thrash Metal album ever! This album is Thrash in its purest form. I think Metallica get what they deserve. I'm their biggest fan, but I refuse to listen to anything after the Black Album. I think it's fair to criticise them for their output since 91-or so. Listen to The Outlaw Torn and Fixxxer, that might change your mind for Load/Reload. This is really the only Metallica album I would classify as thrash. Among the Living is a thrash album delivered by a speed metal band. But, due to its brutal riffs, Benante's syncopated double-kicks, Ian and Spitz's frenetic riffing, and Bello's groovy bass-lines it's a hard album to pigeon hole. Spreading the Disease was definitely a speed metal album, but this must go down as one of the most brutal speed metal albums of all time that it's basically a thrash album. Why isn't Among The Living in the top 5.
