Achy Breaky Song" is a country song by American song parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic, released on his album Alapalooza, parodying the song "Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus. ), as well as several alternatives he would rather endure, rather than having to listen to it anymore. These even include physical torture such as being "tie to a chair and kick down the stairs".
Yankovic released his second album "Weird Al" Yankovic in 3-D in 1984. The first single "Eat It", a parody of the Michael Jackson song "Beat It", became popular, thanks in part to the music video, a shot-for-shot parody of Jackson's "Beat It" music video, and what Yankovic described as his "uncanny resemblance" to Jackson . Yankovic considered that his first true satirical song was "Smells Like Nirvana", which references unintelligible lyrics in Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Other satirical songs include "Achy Breaky Song", which refers to the song "Achy Breaky Heart", "(This Song's Just) Six Words Long", which refers to the repetitious lyrics in "Got My Mind Set on You", and "Perform This Way"
This song is by "Weird Al" Yankovic and appears on the album Alapalooza (1993) and on the compilation album Greatest Hits Volume II (1994). You can torture me with Donny and MarieYou can play some Barry ManilowOr you can play some schlockLike New Kids on the BlockOr any Village People song you knowOr play Vanilla IceHey, you can play him twiceAnd you can play the Bee Gees any dayBut Mr. DJ, pleaseI'm beggin' on my kneesI just can't take no more of Billy Ray.
Weird Al" Yankovic (1983). Okay, so number 14 of 14 is Al’s debut album. This is by no means a bad album, but as Al continued making music over the years he really came into his own, and refined the craft of musical humor which left this album in the metaphorical dust. The parodies on this album are decent enough. The originals leave a bit to be desired. Al decided to make his disgust vocal with the parody "Achy Breaky Song.
