Junip is the second LP by Swedish based indie rock band Junip. 1 Critical reception.

Junip's debut album Fields was a sleeper hit, partly because of its intriguing mix of folk, pop, electronic, and globe-trotting sounds, and partly because it was full of strong, simple songs that slowly but surely grabbed listeners' ears and refused to let go. The band's self-titled follow-up is even more of a grower, in more ways than one: Jose Gonzalez and company opt for bigger arrangements and productions this time around, so much so that it can take a few listens for some of these songs to truly unfold. Fields' best songs had a hypnotic drive to them and that's true of Junip as well, particularly on the album's second half.

Junip formed in 1998 in Gothenburg, Sweden, by José González (guitar, vocals), Elias Araya (drums) and Tobias Winterkorn (organ, moog). Their first 7-inch came out in 2000, but as José González's career began to take off, their first substantial release, the self-released Black Refuge EP, came only in 2006 and their first full album, Fields, in 2010. The band's second album, Junip, was released in April 2013.

Line of Fire", from upcoming self-titled Junip album, out this Spring on City Slang in Europe and Mute Records in North America. Lyrics: What would you do If it all came back to you Each crest of each wave Bright as lightning What would you say If you had to leave today Leave everything behind Even though for once you're shining.

The Swede started Junip in the early 2000s with drummer Elias Araya and synth player Tobias Winterkorn, but the trio released only one EP before Gonzalez hit paydirt with his solo minimalist motorik bossa nova folk. While that’s not necessarily untrue, Junip at least try to dispel that perception on their self-titled album, which is ambitious in its details.

Unique cd case design, can't say I've ever seen anything like it. The acrylic pieces go together like a puzzle to create a case for the cd.

Absolutely flawless pressing. Zero dust or traces of anything when first removed from sleeve.

very nice album.but the sound is 3 from 5 stars :-(
Jek
I think it's not specially mastered for vinyl, but imho it sounds nice ... the overall sound could be louder, that's maybe right.
