Luca Lombardi has published over 180 compositions, which include four operas, three symphonies, a slew of orchestral and chamber pieces, as well as music for soloists. Ricordi has published several of Lombardi’s works, including the operas Faust. Faust (German for "fist") is the debut studio album by the experimental music band Faust. It was released in 1971 on Polydor Records. Although it was never a commercial success, Faust has garnered much acclaim from rock critics.

Luca Lombardi (born 24 December 1945 in Rome) is an Italian composer. Lombardi studied composition initially with Armando Renzi and Roberto Lupi, later enrolling at the Pesaro Conservatory where he studied with Boris Porena, receiving his diploma in 1970. He then studied musicology at the University of Rome, graduating with a thesis on Hanns Eisler.
