Cataplexy is a Japanese Melodic Black Metal band in the style familar of many Nsbm bands. It is honestly difficult to describe the characteristics of actual good - sounding Nsbm but from my experience RAC and Oi elements but also a D - beat which is part of the same Punk genre and a drumming technique is very common amongst such bands. Cataplexy is not a Nsbm band but they show musical references in the songwriting. Melodic Black Metal is not Melodic Black Metal. There are the three large niches I know. Isn't the second wave the most listened to era in Bm? Absolutely and this album provides you with all of its tropes. Lunar eclipse, chaos to the ruin' is an excellent album from Japan that is more known for its avant-garde bm bands like Sigh or for the first wave of Bm like Sabbat, Zadkiel etc. With Cataplexy's debut you're provided with a good whiskey in the form of a Bm record.
