Joy Division The Complete BBC Recordings is a collection of the two Peel Sessions recorded by Joy Division, two songs from the BBC Television programme Something Else and a live interview. It was released in 2000.

The Complete BBC Recordings. These sessions were issued later as two four-song EPs on the Strange Fruit label. In 2000, the BBC released several of its recordings to the Fuel 2000 label, including everything on tape by Joy Division; hence the name of this collection - The Complete BBC Recordings. Both Peel Sessions EPs are here, as well as two songs performed live on the Something Else television show on September 1, 1979. The Something Else recording is significant - it is some of the band's most heavily bootlegged material, featuring Curtis performing in full glory. A three-minute interview of Curtis and Stephen.

Love Will Tear Us Apart (John Peel Session, 26/11/79). 24 Hours (John Peel Session, 26/11/79). Colony (John Peel Session, 26/11/79). I got a copy of "The Complete BBC Recordings" LP (SFRSLP094) but I have doubts that it is a genuine one. The sleeve itself looks genuine - very high printing quality, nothing blurry. So it is no reproduction from a scan.

Complete BBC Recordings. Made up of radio performances cut in January, September, and November of 1979, The Complete BBC Recordings captures the post-punk outfit two years after they came together following a Sex Pistols appearance in their Manchester, England, base and a matter of months before frontman Ian Curtis took his life.

uk Here are the young men with weights on their shoulders, the grandmasters of irretrievable loss. Steve Morris and Ian Curtis were interviewed by Richard Skinner for BBC Radio One upon the release of the Unkno. Joy Division's drummer and mausoleum-voiced singer come across as relaxed, personable, satisfied, ambitious and flushed with youthful optimism. Joy Division started as a fun thing" says Curtis, as if a member of The Monkees. He committed suicide less than a year later and the myth was born.
