Route 666 is the second album by the all-female tribute band The Iron Maidens and the first under their Japanese label Powerslave Records. It is also the first release featuring guitarist Heather Baker (who replaced Elizabeth Schall and Josephine Soegijanty). Soegijanty, however, does appear on the DVD portion of this album

Route 666 is a punishing e metal disc along the lines of Demon Hunter, Rotten Sound and Brick Bath. When a CD is titled Route 666, it's logical to assume that the band is providing Occult-obsessed death metal/black metal. But even though SBT's lyrics are definitely on the dark side, sledgehammer tracks like "Automatic Impulse" and "Bone Machine" aren't death metal in the way that Carcass, Triumphator, Dark Funeral or In Aeternum are death metal

Route 666 is The Hamsters fourth CD release, and like the previous album, The Hamsters, was a studio recording using lots of uncharacteristic overdubs and other studio techniques. The album was recorded during the tail-end of Zsa Zsa's absence due to illness, though he returned for two of the tracks.
