Columbia-Lucky "DANCE RHYTHMS OF TO-DAY 1936" album, S-9(B-side). Sol Hoopii and His Novelty Quartet. Recorded in mid 1930's. He was an Hawaiian guitarist, claimed by many as the all-time best lap-steel guitar virtuoso, and he is without any doubt one the most famous original hawaiian steel guitarists, along with Joe Kekuku, Frank Ferera, Sam Ku West and Ben "King" Nawahi. I have been listening to Hawaiian steel now for 50 years and Sol Hoopii still remains at the top. His intonation is without competition. Sol Hoopii "The Real Thing" Wonderful Style, great musician.
