Few albums in rock history have enjoyed as complete a critical and popular turnaround as Weezer’s 'Pinkerton'. Though tagged a disappointment upon its 1996 release, today 'Pinkerton' is considered one of the most influential and important albums of that decade and beyond. Among the latter are the newly-discovered gem 'Tragic Girl', unreleased B-side 'I Swear It’s True' and numerous live performances, particularly noteworthy given that the band rarely played 'Pinkerton' songs after the album tour. The 1996-1997 concert tracks were taken from the massive Reading Festival in the . radio station sessions in Philadelphia and Salt Lake City and a lunchtime performance won in a contest by Shorecrest High School near Seattle.
Weezer (often referred to as The Blue Album and commonly abbreviated as TBA) is the debut album by Weezer. It was released on May 10, 1994 by Geffen Records. The album was produced by former Cars frontman Ric Ocasek and recorded in Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Weezer spawned the popular singles "Undone - The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly", both of which were responsible for launching Weezer into mainstream success with the aid of music videos directed by Spike Jonze.

Renews automatically. Sample this album Artist (Sample). The first LP I got was presed off center and on side A it caused a noise on every rotation. I got replacement and side A is fine but side B has major distortion/noise all through out the B side but really bad the first 60 seconds or so. I got another replacemt and its like the 2nd one with all the noise but not as bad but still really annoying. I will be looking for an older press of this album now.
Weezer's fourth self-titled record, trumpeted as a return to form just like 2014's Everything Will Be All Right in the End, is also their first concept album since Pinkerton. That album was framed as an extended mea culpa for the folks who had stuck it out through the "Beverly Hills"s, the "boo-yah"s, and the side collaborations with flat-earth rapper . It was by no means an empty apology: the album proved refreshing and reassuring, their best in years, and frontman Rivers Cuomo seemed to have bested. the curse that had been hovering over them for the past decade.
Weezer have revealed the details of the Pinkerton reissue, which is due November 2nd: The first disc will feature the remastered Pinkerton, plus the album’s b-sides, radio remixes and the unreleased track I Swear It’s True. The second CD will be stocked with 16 rough and alternate versions of songs, live performances and radio sessions recorded throughout the Pinkerton tour, plus four unreleased tracks.
