Chuck Girard is a pioneer of Contemporary Christian Music. He began a spiritual quest as a hippie in the 60’s. His journey through Eastern philosophies, Mysticism, New Age, et. resulted in a conversion to Christianity in 1970 at the famous Jesus Movement Church, Calvary Chapel,. in Costa Mesa, CA. He was a founding member of Love Song the very first Christian rock band to become famous in the . which was spawned out of Calvary Chapel. He was born on August 27, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. He moved to Santa Rosa, California in his young teens. He was a founding member of Love Song, the first Christian rock band to become popular in the United States. In 1975 Girard became a solo artist after leaving the surf rock band The Hondells. He wrote and performed the songs "Sometimes Alleluia" and "Rock 'N' Roll Preacher"; both were featured on his debut album Chuck Girard
