After five years without an album, Grendel returns with Age Of The Disposable Body. Pivoting from the straight up aggro-EBM, AOTD shows Grendel exploring surprising new directions, creating an artistically expansive, immersive album. I really liked Timewave: Zero and I was pleasantly surprised by this album. It's rare that I get to say I like most of the songs on any one album, but that's the case here.

As for the new album, I wonder if Grendel was influenced by the Metal Gear Rising (2013) soundtrack, because the track Age of the Disposal Body and its remix strike a few similar chords to my ears. The same goes for Hex It and Dead Inside. It’s such a soulful album full of emotion. Most of it feels like a state of mourning put into each song, expressed with different lyrics.
