It was released on January 28, 1997 and was produced by some of the West Coast's top acts, including Brotha Lynch Hung, C-Bo and JT the Bigga Figga. West Coast Bad Boyz was a success, peaking at on the Billboard 200 and on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Both the album and its opening song were dedicated to the memory of Tupac Shakur.

West Coast Bad Boyz Format: Vinyl. Having said that, the album features a lot of non NL appearances such as Brotha Lynch Hung, Ice Cube, WC, Rappin 4 tay, Mac Dre, and more. Tupac's voice is inserted in the introduction, with Master P rapping over the beat of one of Pac's songs from All eyez on me. C-Murder and Silkk also appear on the album. but Mia X is not here. I think that along with Ghetto D and Tru 2 da game, this CD was one of the best from No Limit in 1997. This was a good cd but the first West Coast Bad Boyz compilation was a lot better. But the best songs on this cd are RIP Tupac, Bangin', Got Tha Best Hand, Ups & Downs, Bad Boyz On A Mission, Roll Yo Voges, Hands On My 45, Breakin' Skrill, and Steady Mobbin'.
