Junior Senior's second album is a dour, measured affair that pits subdued instrumentation against introspective lyrics and restrained vocals. Now, you didn't believe that, did you? As with their debut, Hey Hey My My Yo Yo is a Technicolor blaze of maximalist glory packed with over-the-top vocals, nonsense lyrics, woozy performances and dancefloor ready summer jams. And handclaps, you can't forget those. Jeppe "Senior" Laursen's production leaves no room for subtly which is fine because Jesper "Junior" Mortensen's vocals have none.

Those who never saw Junior Senior, with their sexual preference goofing and affected stuttering, as anything more than a gimmick might be surprised they've issued a second record, much less one that improves on their debut. But skeptics be damned that's just what Hey Hey My My Yo Yo is, an improvement and distillation of the duo's sound. It might not have an icebreaking single like "Move Your Feet", but it's much more consistent.

Junior Senior released their second album, Hey Hey My My Yo Yo on August 24, 2005 in Japan, where it went to on the charts. Fortunately, the delayed release date has done little to diminish Hey Hey My My Yo Yo's voracious appetite for a great party.
