The Splendour of Fear is the second album by English alternative rock band Felt, released in 1984. It is a largely instrumental album based around long guitar passages inspired by classical guitar music, with only tracks 2 and 5 having any lyrics. The cover art is taken from the poster for the 1966 Andy Warhol/Paul Morrissey film Chelsea Girls, designed by Alan Aldridge

It was produced by Larry Fast who was notable for his Synergy series of electronic music albums.

We need new words to describe the landscape of fear experienced by animals when predators are nearby – "isophobes", anyone? . Easy to picture, but trickier to describe precisely. Fortunately, the Greeks left us a number of other fearful words. Perhaps we can mix the terms of cartography with those of emotion to talk, say, of isophobes – contours of equal fear. Classicists fearful of the consequences for linguistic purity should probably look away now.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. NOT Nelson Mandela (as is often misattributed).

Susan Jeffers writes brilliantly, clearly and concisely, and is so inspirational that its hard to feel anything but positivity when reading this particular book. Level 2 is why that fear may happen so being alone due to rejection or vulnerable and then the deepest fear of all, Level 3, is based on your negativity to these fears I can’t handle it. There are a few exercises in the book (not enough for me, I would’ve preferred more but it may be enough for others) and one is to create your Pain to Power chart.
