Beautiful People Ltd is a challenging, ultimately addictive album. This collaboration with Lary Seven does not resemble Jarboe’s solo work or that with World Of Skin or Swans. It’s claimed that no instruments were conventionally employed to create the haunting textures. The childhood theme weaves through Bebe Marie, Coruscation, Liquid Bebe Psychedelia, My Bruise, I Know You Don't Like Me, Newborn Child, Show and I Feel Pretty. These tracks represent numerous distinct styles and/or contradictory emotions although loss of innocence marks the darker ones.

The themes morph across musical and emotional boundaries, like that of lost innocence which weaves through divergent tracks like Bebe Marie, A Coruscation, Liquid Bebe Psychedelia, My Bruise, Newborn Child and I Feel Pretty. Beautiful People Ltd contains the fruit of ideas rooted in the 1987 Skin album Blood Women Roses and the seminal Swans work Children Of God (1986). The sinister nursery rhyme is an example, one which is particularly well developed here. Beautiful People Ltd also contains the seeds of various directions that would later resurface in the work of Jarboe.
