Very is the fifth studio album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. It was released on 27 September 1993 by Parlophone, nearly three years after the duo's previous studio album, Behaviour, and following the compilation album Discography: The Complete Singles Collection. Very exhibits one of many turning points the Pet Shop Boys would make to their music, shifting from the subdued electronic pop of Behaviour to richly instrumented dance arrangements.

A new Pet Shop Boys album, Very, was released on September 27, 1993. It was produced by the Pet Shop Boys, with additional production by Stephen Hague, and was remixed by Stephen Hague and Mike Spike Drake.
Very is the fifth studio album, by the Pet Shop Boys. Released shortly after Neil Tennett open declaration of his homosexuality to the media, the album is considered one of the band’s most personal records. Many of the songs deal with homosexuality and issues related to being in the closet in frank and open fashion (previous songs by the band dealt with the subject matter in an ambiguous fashion, since Tennett was still closeted). The album is the first one by the band, in which the they themselves served as the main producers
But make no mistake - they are one of the most talented pop outfits working today, witty and melodic with a fine sense of flair. Very is one of their very best records, expertly weaving between the tongue-in-cheek humor of "I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind of Thing," the quietly shocking "Can You Forgive Her?," and the bizarrely moving cover of the Village People's "Go West. Alternately happy and melancholy, Very is the Pet Shop Boys at their finest.
