I love this record. I know many might have bought it for the Commix remix, but the original is probably one of those hidden D&B gems of the late 2000s D&B scene. Why? Because it isn't fu***ng dancefloor fooder for the kids, but a song. YEAH, A SONG. Some might argue it's a paradigm that D&B is geared for the dancefloor and anything outside the box is NOT D&B, but that's wrong. The A side starts with a laidback but still fierce break around 80bpm with a deep bass hit followed by a nice melody. Then the vocals kick in: "You don't have to take what life's got for ya/don't just sit back in your seat, yeah" What a great line. When the break sets his 160+bpm drumfunk pace it's just pure bliss. A great great SONG (in the sense of song!) The B side is great, too. Commix as usual, deep bass, but nothing too exciting. They use the vocal sporadically, which gives it a nice deep D&B feel. Don't sleep on this, you can get it pretty easily and if you love drumfunk and D&B you will love this.
