I really loved your first classical album, 2015’s ‘Music for String Quartet, Piano and Celeste’. Sep 20’ is one of those pieces of music you hear once and know, I am going to love this forever. Recorded with the support of Creative Scotland, ‘Hamilton Mausoleum Suite’ is an album of original chamber music (string quartet & harp) composed, arranged and produced by Scottish, BAFTA-nominated composer/songwriter and Teenage Fanclub drummer Francis Macdonald.

Francis Macdonald (born 11 September 1970) drums with Teenage Fanclub. He makes music for filmmakers and TV and manages Camera Obscura and The Vaselines. On March 30, 2015 he released "Music For String Quartet, Piano And Celeste" described by Classic FM as "sublime, minimalist classical music". It debuted at Number 12 in the Official Classical Artists Album Chart and ad Number 3 in the Official Specialist Classical Chart.

The Hamilton Mausoleum Suite music was inspired by – and the album recorded in – the historic Hamilton Mausoleum that stands on the edge of Strathclyde Park in Lanarkshire, a few miles from the city of Glasgow. The Mausoleum has one of the longest echoes of any man-made building in the world and was constructed in the 1850s for Alexander The 10th Duke of Hamilton. For a time, the duke’s remains were interred in an Egyptian sarcophagus on a plinth within the building. The mausoleum, 37 metres tall, now stands empty
