The Album is the first and only studio album by American hip hop supergroup The Firm. It was released on October 21, 1997 by Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope Records, Def Jam Recordings and Columbia Records. The project was created by rapper Nas, his manager Steve Stoute and producers Dr. Dre and Trackmasters, who came up with the idea of forming a hip hop supergroup.

The Firm is the first studio album by the British rock band The Firm, released by Atlantic Records on 11 February 1985. Tracks ranged from the epic "Midnight Moonlight" based on a previously unreleased song by Led Zeppelin called "Swan Song", first tinkered with during the Physical Graffiti sessions, to the commercially successful "Radioactive". Three members of the group (Nas, Foxy Brown and AZ) had previously released massively successful albums, so expectations for the album were high. It was produced primarily by Aftermath founder Dr. Dre and Trackmasters, and features mafioso rap themed lyrics.

After coming together on the track Affirmative Action from Nas‘ 1996 album It Was Written, Nas, AZ, Foxy Brown, and Nature (who replaced Cormega) formed The Firm and released their only album through Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment in 1997. Dre and the Trackmasters handled the majority of the album’s production and they looked to continue the commercial success of It Was Written.
