is the third studio album by American rapper Ab-Soul. It was released on June 24, 2014, by Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). The record serves as the follow-up to his critically acclaimed Control System (2012). The album features guest appearances from Black Hippy affiliates Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock; as well as Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Action Bronson and Mac Miller (as Delusional Thomas), whose in-house studio is where Ab-Soul recorded the majority of the record, among others.
Those days were actually Golden days of Music industry. So many high talented musicians were showed their talents. I enjoyed every music played and sung during that time. Millions we could say. Now a days I hear only some kind of craps and not music. THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES starts with a conga drums playing accompanied with guitar. Then came the heavenly voice of Freddie and it was flowing like a calm river. So crispy, so Clear and so nice. Daniel from Columbus, OhBrian May mentioned in an interview after Freddie's death that the entire album and its' songs were recorded with the knowledge that Freddie was sick. Looking back at the songs on the album, you can definitely see the knowledge by the entire group that Freddie wasn't going to be around much longer and this song is a perfect example of that.
These letters are in reference to the second half of the group’s forthcoming double album, entitled Jenny Death. The first half of The Powers That B split record came in the form of an eight-track collection called Niggas on the Moon, which nonchalantly featured the heavily cut and sampled vocals of Björk on all eight tracks.
These Days is the seventeenth solo studio album by the English singer-songwriter Paul Carrack. The follow-up to Soul Shadows, it was released on September 7, 2018, on Carrack's own Carrack-UK label. Paul Carrack – lead and backing vocals, keyboards, acoustic guitar, electric guitar. Robbie McIntosh – acoustic guitar, electric guitar, slide guitar, dobro. Frank Ricotti – percussion. Peter Van Hooke – percussion.
These Days is a gospel-inspired song that sees Ab switching up his flow throughout the song, at times channeling Migos and other times sounding like a frantic Chance. It also features vocal contributes from soul group The O’My’s.
On May 5, 2014, after clearing up these rumors that his new album was initially titled Black Lip Pastor, Ab-Soul later revealed that the true title for his new album will be called These Day. .In May 2014, in an interview with Jay Z's Life+Times, Ab-Soul spoke on several topics such as his song, called "Stigmata", while not. having a super conceptual title for the album and began recording for the majority of it at the Mac Miller's house; when asked about what should listeners take away from These Day. Ab-Soul answered: "Balance.
which finally sees release this week, doesn't seem to mind. It's a 2012-era Black Hippy release through and through, with the sprawling runtime (90-plus minutes), resonant repeated catchphrases, and grey-toned mood to prove it. "Last-picked kid at gym class" suits Ab best anyway, since he reps the underdogs at every opportunity. On Control System, he narrated his battle with Stevens-Johnson syndrome and mourned the death of his partner and collaborator Alori Joi, and on the intensely emotional "Closure," he sings to an old flame. I wonder if you still praying to the east, I wonder if you ever forgave m. That doesn't make him heavy, though-Ab's on-record presence is primarily a playful one.
offers a whirlwind of excellent hooks and exciting ideas.
is a messy album: half completely unimpressive and half brilliant; botched skits; combined songs and an occasional identity crisis make judging the album as a cohesive whole very difficult indeed. The quality of the second half of the album is undeniable and if this had been spread across the album, with filler tracks and skits removed Ab-Soul could have been in possession of one of the albums of the year.
