The motto of the band is Aere Invicti (Latin for Invincible with the Brass). Music has always been an integral part of military life and since its formation in 1920, the Central Band of the Royal Air Force has boasted a proud and distinguished heritage.

The Air Force Band is making a flying visit to Taranaki for a one night only concert. New Plymouth is the second stop of a central North Island tour, before the band switches to drill work ahead of the 2017 Air Tattoo at Ohakea, marking the Air Force’s 80th anniversary.
