Redux '92: Live in Japan is an album by the rock band Utopia recorded live on May 10, 1992 at Gotanda Kani Hoken Hall, Tokyo, Japan and released in early 1993. It captures the band's reunion six years after it had disbanded in 1986. The album ostensibly consists of the "best of" as selected by the members Todd Rundgren, Roger Powell, Kasim Sulton, and John "Willie" Wilcox. Only for completionists (0%). This was the first live album since Utopia's second album "Another Live", and the first live Utopia album by the permanent lineup of Rundgren, Sultan, Powell and Wilcox. It is also, in fact, a reunion album, as the band broke up about six years before this tour. Unfortunately, Utopia with this lineup quickly changed from a prog fusion band to a (highly talented) power pop group. And the set list here, because it covers their entire catalog, has very little true prog.

This live album sounds amazing, and Utopia's performance is fantastic and incredibly energetic. I own all 10 of their studio albums, and the live albums and bootlegs. OK hands down this album is a must for any Todd Rundgren fan. Todd and his band Utopia started in the early 70's and for the most part have played through out the years or worked with Todd on verious projects. Redux '92; - Live in Japan is one very good live album from start to finsh. It seems that musician's who choose to record live in Japan get a more involved audeance. Deep Purple, Cheap Trick & Santana have all had great albums that were record in Japan. Take the risk because this .

Following the release of the album Pov in 1985, Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton, Roger Powell & Willie Wilcox disbanded Utopia. Seven years later the group were coaxed out of mothballs to undertake a tour of Japan, during which the band recorded a live album at a concert in Tokyo on 10th may 1992.
