Björn Svante Afzelius (27 January 1947 in Huskvarna, Jönköping County – 16 February 1999 in Gothenburg) was a Swedish singer-songwriter and guitar player. Politically he was a socialist. His songs are about love, politics and joys and sadness in life. His father Svante Arnold Afzelius (1923–1976) was an engineer and his mother Ulla Afzelius (1926–1971) was a housewife. His only sibling is his brother Bengt (b. 1952) who is a music teacher.

Björn Afzelius was the lead singer of Hoola Bandoola Band, the most successful band of the Movement. His first solo album, Vem är det som är rädd?, is a mellow folk-rock album with political lyrics in Swedish and it firmly established Afzelius as a songwriter after years of standing in the shadow of bandmate Mikael Wiehe. After Hoola Bandoola Band split in 1976 he left MNW and signed with the newly established label Nacksving as Nationalteatern and Nynningen had done previously.
