A split album (or split) is a music album which includes tracks by two or more separate artists. There have been singles and EPs of the same variety, which are often called "split singles" and "split EPs" respectively. Split albums differ from "various artists" compilation albums in that they generally include several tracks of each artist, or few artists with one or two tracks each, instead of multiple artists with only one or two tracks each.

What's the point? The intention is to promote people who make beautiful music. with no care for what anybody thinks. Invasion Status is John Olson (who you may know from Spykes, Wolf Eyes, Dead Machines, Stare Case, etc) with a horn and a tape deck. Pink Chunk is Olson again, joined by excited biker Dan Dlugosielski (aka Body Morph, Mossy Throats, Uneven Universe, many more). You don't have to call it jazz if the word bothers you. The Collector is the 1963 debut novel by English author John Fowles. He wrote it between November 1960 and March 1962. It was adapted as a feature film of the same name in 1965. The novel is about a lonely young man, Frederick Clegg, who works as a clerk in a city hall and collects butterflies in his spare time. The first part of the novel tells the story from his point of view.

The unifying aspect of this split album is the overall attitude present. Both Throats and Maths specialize in nasty, furious music that is not afraid to get it's hands dirty. In other words, they're both very pissed off, and it shows. The first 5 songs of this 10 song album are allotted to Maths. No time is wasted in kicking off their short but energetic collection of songs. Opener Heavy Hearts gets right in your face almost immediately, showcasing Maths' own frenetic brand of screamo

This tape seems to be one of the rarest or should I say less frequently sold releases by mossy throats, the stats have stayed the same for several years with only 11 users having it in their collection and me taking it up to 12 when I finally scored a copy about a month prior to writing this review. So why is this relevant? Well it seems I have been fortunate to be around when edition of one tapes by mossy throats have gone up for sale but this tape here I've only seen for sale twice, a copy I bought here on discogs and another on eBay in a job lot which wasn't worth the money and three if you count time I bought a body collector and the rita split (killer tape by the way) which was mistakenly listed for sale as this tape. You would think with an edition of 33 there would of been more copies floating around but there hasn't, which brings me to the question why? Is there really 33 copies? Did the other 20 exist? Or is it so dope a tape, why would you want to sell it? I like to think the latter.Starting with body collector's side you hear junk, radios and instructional tapes all pieced to together to make a wild trip. On the flipside the mossy throats track is a chilled lo-fi zone. These are some of the muddiest recordings from both of these dudes and that is a good thing. If memory serves correct some of the earliest works too.
