Tom Chapman is a Manchester-based writer with square eyes and the love of a good pun. Raised on a diet of Jurassic Park and Jumanji, this '90s boy had VHS movies flowing in his blood from a young age. Heading into further education, Tom turned his passion for the silver screen into a degree in Broadcast Journalism at Leeds University. These days, he is addicted to all things Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Westworld, while reading up on what the X-Men are doing and imagining a life in Gotham City

Percussionist Tom Chapman is a founding member of The Urban Folk Quartet. He has also provided hybrid drum and percussion setups for Jacqui McShee, Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar, Gilmore & Roberts, The Old Dance School and (after JB himself) is the longest serving member of Joe Broughton's Conservatoire Folk Ensemble. Tom has guested with artists including Joss Stone, The Violent Femmes, Cerys Matthews, Fairport Convention, Roby Lakatos, Chris While and Neil Yates. Outside of contemporary folk, Tom is busy drumming with bands on the UK's swing dance scene. Chapman-Li is a new home for our work together and individually, creating album artwork and print campaigns for musicians, promoters and labels. We've also recently branched out into bespoke wedding stationery, which is a surprising but very rewarding new direction!
