1984 was a terrific year for music, certainly the best of the decade, so it was easy for somebody like John Parr to sort of slip in underneath the radar with a record that was teasingly, tastefully raunchy - a strip anthem for civilized bachelor parties, a perfect compliment to the Reagan era. John Parr (born November 18, 1954, Worksop, Nottinghamshire) is a British rock musician who had considerable success in the 80s, having two chart topping hits in the United States. His 'signature song', "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)", reached the top 40 in over six different nations and continues to be played worldwide, particularly in support of disabled athletes (the song being written on behalf of Canadian wheelchair athlete Rick Hansen, the 'man in motion').
