Matthew Chamberlain (born April 17, 1967) is an American musician, drummer, producer, songwriter and session player.

Drummer Matt Chamberlain is a Composer, Producer and Studio Musician whose eclectic talents find him working in various genres from rock to classical, jazz, and the avant-garde. In 2005, he made his solo debut with the eponymous Matt Chamberlain album on Trey Spruance’s Web Of Mimicry label. He then helped to create Floratone with guitarist Bill Frisell and made 2007’s Floratone 1 and Floratone 2 in 2012.

A through-composed work for piano and percussion, it was written entirely by Haas, the internationally renowned pianist and founder of Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. What started as an exercise in all 12 keys turned into Frames. Born in San Pedro, California in 1967, Chamberlain first began playing drums at age ten and continued with serious private study into his teens. After high school, he attended the prestigious North Texas State University music program on a scholarship. However, he dropped out prior to graduating to pursue performance opportunities. Chamberlain then paired with pianist Brian Haas for the 2013 album Frames, which showcased the duo's genre-straddling mix of instrumental jazz, avant-garde classical music, and experimental post-rock. In 2016, Chamberlain and Haas returned with their second collaboration, Prometheus Risen.

He received his first set of drums at age 15, and studied with David Garibaldi, Murray Spivack, Chuck Flores, and Greg Bissonette before being awarded a scholarship to study at North Texas State University three years later. He started playing professionally in the Dallas, Texas Deep Ellum scene in the mid 80's. His first notable work was with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, with whom he toured and recorded from 1988 until 1991.
