Joseph Schmidt (March 4, 1904 – November 16, 1942) was an Austro-Hungarian and Romanian Jewish tenor and actor. He was born in Davideny (Ukrainian: Davydivka) village in the Storozhynets district of the Bukovina province of Austria-Hungary, which became part of Romania after World War I and is now part of Ukraine. The album's first title was Reise, Reise Volume Two, but on August 18, 2005 the album was announced as Rosenrot. The cover art is nearly identical to the Japanese import of Reise, Reise.
