From Genesis to Revelation is the debut studio album by the English rock band Genesis, released in March 1969 on Decca Records. The album originated from a collection of demos recorded in 1967 while the members of Genesis were pupils of Charterhouse in Godalming, Surrey. It caught the attention of Jonathan King who named the group, organised deals with his publishing company and Decca, and studio time at Regent Sound Studios to record a series of singles and a full album

Meanwhile, From Genesis to Revelation has found an unlikely fan in Noel Gallagher. He was always the first person to bash bands like Genesis during the heyday of Oasis, but he recently discovered their earliest album and says his 2017 song If Love is the Law was inspired by the From Genesis to Revelation obscurity The Conquerer. I became obsessed with early Genesis, he told Rolling Stone, and I was like, ‘Fuckin’ hell, why has no one ever fuckin’ mentioned this?’

In March 1969, Genesis released their debut album, From Genesis to Revelation. The record gave barely a hint as to what they would become over the next few years. I have quite a lot of affection for From Genesis to Revelation," recalled Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks in the official band biography, Genesis: Chapter and Verse, "I don't love it or anything, but it was part of my childhood.

From Genesis to Revelation was the first album by Genesis, released in March 1969 on Decca Records in England (London Records in North America). It was produced by Jonathan King, the man who discovered them back in 1967 while the members of Genesis were pupils at Charterhouse School, King's alma mater as well. Upon their inception in early 1967, Genesis originally consisted of Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, and Anthony Phillips, sans a drummer.

From Genesis to Revelation is the first studio album by the British band Genesis. It was released in March 1969 on Decca Records in England (London Records in North America). It was produced by Jonathan King, who discovered them in 1967 while the members of Genesis were pupils at Charterhouse School, King’s alma mater. It was reissued in various regions, including the United Kingdom (home country), as In the Beginning (first in 1974) and then part of Decca’s Rock Roots repackaging series in 1976 before reverting to original title in recent reissues. From Genesis to Revelation Q&A.

This debut Genesis album, which has appeared under license to various labels in addition to Decca and London in different configurations, is largely of historical interest. The group was still in its formative stages, the members barely past their 18th birthdays and still working out what they wanted to sound like. Mostly they sound like the Bee Gees trying to be the Moody Blues (picture something similar to the sound of the former group's Odessa album)
