Grace Shaw (born 25 September 1998), known professionally as Mallrat, is an Australian musician, singer, and rapper from Brisbane. Mallrat has released two EPs: Uninvited (2016) and In the Sky (2018). In 2019, her tracks "Groceries" and "UFO" placed at No. 7 and 70, respectively, in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2018. Grace Shaw was born on 25 September 1998, in Brisbane. She attended Ascot State School from 2004-2010 and Clayfield College from 2011-2015.

Mallrat describes Texas as being a bit emo and being about wanting someone to be well but they’re just struggling. It also see’s her reuniting with frequent collaborator Golden Vessel who serves as the tracks producer. The song appears on her second EP In the Sky, which was released on June 1, 2018.

Adolescent loitering. Now trading under the moniker Mallrat – a pseudonym which evokes years of adolescent loitering in the sleepy suburbs of Brisbane – Grace lives up to the name. In her dressing room at La Gaite Lyrique in Paris (where she’s supporting Rogers), she’s the picture of sun-kissed, laidback youth. She’s even accompanied by her best friend from school, Denim Skrrt, who doubles as the DJ for her sets. But for now, Mallrat seems to be making the best of her good situation. Calmly sipping her kombucha and letting huge smiles light up her face, she tells me how she’s just moved to LA, where she’s sharing a house with Allday, the rapper who first inspired her to make music and with whom she’s since collaborated.
