Seaton began his career as a solo artist, debuting on disc in 1960, before joining forces with Winston Delano Stewart as the duo Winston & Bibbi. When Maurice Roberts joined the pair in 1963, the Gaylads were born, although it was almost a still-birth, as Seaton wandered off with the Astronauts for a stream of singles in the mid-'60s. Returning to the Gaylads at the tail-end of the ska era, the trio's singles began soaring into the charts.
