Goodbye Jumbo is the second studio album by British alternative rock band World Party, released on 24 April 1990 on Ensign Records.

This excellent follow-up album from World Party is much tighter than the debut. Dealing with issues from the environment ("Take It Up," "Put the Message in the Box") to relationship woes ("And I Fell Back Alone"), these tracks manage to maintain a hopeful, positive mood without becoming trivial. In these songs, Wallinger has developed his own distinct style. A great album, worth checking out just for the uptempo groove of "Way Down No.

I love all kinds of music. Keep in mind, though, that music is a very personal thing. It’s so you’ll have a better idea where I’m coming from.

The first album JUMBO of 1972 (followed a few months later by the second album "DNA") is basically a 60s sounding blues rock album that incorporates aspects of folk and prog without ever getting too complex and never diving into the adventurousness that Italy was experiencing at the time. Keyboards exude a rather 60s psychedelic pop groove, tribal percussion dots a rather ordinarily percussive backdrop while bluesy guitar riffs provide the accompaniment for Fella's grizzled John Fogerty type of vocal style only everything sounds better in Italian!

Goodbye Jumbo Audio CD. World Party. Overall just a great listen. The most well known song here is "Put The Message In A Box", which is incredibly catchy, and I believe "Way Down Now" was a minor hit as well. This band (or guy) has numerous obvious influences, but I think sounds most like "The Jayhawks" to me. I can't understand why all these albums are import only, I guess they're low sellers  . Number 12 on Dan's Top 25 - World Party: Goodbye Jumbo is a modern pop masterpiece which sounds FRESHER today than the day it was released. Does that sound trite? Maybe so, but in this case it's actual, factual: everything is satisfactual.
