Eugene Bertram Krupa (January 15, 1909 – October 16, 1973) was an American jazz drummer, band leader, actor, and composer known for his energetic style and showmanship. His drum solo on "Sing, Sing, Sing" (1937) elevated the role of the drummer from an accompanying line to an important solo voice in the band

Swedish Schnapps (The Genius of Charlie Parker, volume 8) (MG V-8010) is a Charlie Parker compilation album, released by Verve Records, compiling recordings made by two different groups, on two different dates in 1951. The tracks had previously been released as 78rpm singles, and the master takes had previously appeared on the 1955 Clef Records LP The Magnificent Charlie Parker (MG C-646).

Overtime Personnel as for The Gene Krupa Sextet No. 1, except on tracks 9 to 12 where the personnel is: Charlie Shavers - Trumpet Willie Smith - Alto sax Teddy Wilson - Piano Steve Jordan - Guitar Israel Crosby - Bass Gene Krupa - Drums The Gene Krupa Sextet No. 3 13. Medley: Dancing In The Dark/The Nearness Of You /You Are Too utumn In New York 14. Who's Rhythm 15. Second Helping Blues 16. Bloozy Woozy 17. Meddle My Minor 1. In fact Swedish Schnapps sounds very like a Kirby recording. And many of these sextet tracks make the six men sound like a big band, thanks to Shavers' ingenuity. Charlie composed the majority of the tunes. And there are some memorable solos from Shavers, Harris, Webster, Wilson and Eddie Davis - who I assume is the tenorist we know better as "Lockjaw".
