Beme Seed was a New York based psychedelic noise rock band led by Kathleen Lynch, known for her collaboration with the Butthole Surfers. The band utilized guitar feedback and chanting to invoke a droning atmosphere in their music described as "panic inducing", and "supernatural". Trouser Press said of the band: "Lacking the minimal organization of even the Sun City Girls, Beme Seed captures unique psychic qualities on its three opaque and unsettling records.

Beme Seed opened for Butthole Surfers on April 27 1990 at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is an audience recording remastered from cassette by Bob Barrett in 2014. Lineup is Michael Albin guitar, Kenny Savelson drums, Bob Barrett bass and Kathleen Lynch vocals. This show came as they were still writing their second album "Lights Unfold". Beme Seed emerged in Boston in 1988 and descended on New York City in 1989. Often associated with Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth and Flaming Lips, they mixed heavy psychedelia with noise rock for the pre-grunge US and UK underground rock scene. Beme Seed singer Kathleen Lynch was "the Stripper," whose stage antics helped propel Butthole Surfers to infamy.
