This two-LP set contains a great deal of valuable and enjoyable music, reissuing three earlier albums. The highly influential vibraphonist Milt Jackson is heard in a quintet with altoist Lou Donaldson and pianist John Lewis in 1952 on six songs and three alternate takes. Jackson teams up with tenor-saxophonist Hank Mobley (actually the original leader of the date) and pianist Horace Silver in 1957 and he pops up as a featured soloist with trumpeter Art Farmer and tenor-saxophonist Benny Golson in 1958; Golson provided the arrangements on the latter session
Taking its title from Jackson and Coltrane's nicknames, it is the only collaborative record by the pair, although only Jackson contributed original compositions

Milton "Bags" Jackson (January 1, 1923 – October 9, 1999) was an American jazz vibraphonist, usually thought of as a bebop player, although he performed in several jazz idioms. A very expressive player, Jackson differentiated himself from other vibraphonists in his attention to variations on harmonics and rhythm
