Souls of Black is the fourth studio album by American thrash metal band Testament. The album was released on October 9, 1990. Souls of Black preceded several changes in style to rather diverse styles of metal, including the traditional heavy metal sound heard in its succeeding album, The Ritual. The songs on the album are musically re-worked and lyrically re-written songs that had been demoed in the late 1980s, but never officially released.

Produced by Michael Rosen. Album Souls of Black. Souls of Black Lyrics. However the band shows little innovation in songwriting. By 1990, Testament was one of thrash metal's Premier acts, easily standing tall with the Big Four of thrash. An early bay-area contender, the band has made three solid albums and were poised to make it big with their forth effort "Souls of Black". However the album did not have as much success as expected.

Not sure if this is from a digital master but it sounds fantastic compared to my CD copy. Sound is warmer and there's a feeling of depthness of the whole record. Recommended for people who have a doubt buying a reissue LP, I have no regret buying it.

NotOneStraw Back on Black cuts straight from whatever digital master was used to produce the CD, so any difference you hear is in your head (or maybe your gear), but it's the same source as the CD. True. It's the worst possible transfer idea to invoke and to spout out your unfortunate lack of understanding analog and digital limitations do you no favors or honor. Do your homework.
