Artist: Technossomy Title: Make it Fit EP Label: Flying Rhino Records Date: December, 1996. Elektron Bender (Samsara Live Mix)- The version on the album is an absolute stormer and with that we are off with crunchy synths on repeat. That telltale lead jumps right out and this version feels a little more laid back. Smooth and casual, but crystal clear.

V.T.O.L is without a doubt an old school classic that will never sound dated( at least to my ears) Tehnossomy were masters of producing hard acidic goa along with The Green Nuns, at first it doesn't seem to have much punch, the opening beats are very clipped with almost no base at all and then...... Matt Evan & James Munro unleash a m,uch harder kick & acid attack combined with a swirling cascading melody.it also features a quirky vocal sample (little kiddies hard at work), the cool thing is they switch between the clipped beat & the beefy beat several times throughout the track giving V.T.O.L a very unique structure, 5/5 all the way I was a tad disapointed though with the Samsara remix of Elektron Bender mainly because of the minimal use of my beloved vocal sample of William S Burroughs that was so effectively used in the original, i would have liked that to have been used sparingly but much more in your face, besides that gripe all th elements of the original are there and is still quiet a good track, it';s just i prefer the original to this remix..all seriousness though these guys were the catalyst for me becoming a hardcore flying rhino nutcase and they had already almost reached the end of their short recording career when i discovered them in 96.

V.T.O.L. leaves you breathelss, is so intense, so acidic, so incredily full of lines and synths that really stands out of and makes you want for more. Side B starts with that magical atmosphere that Technossomy got us used to, and keep us waiting for more. The sample also fits, i wonder if it was the voice of one of the duo. The track is less impressive then the A side but surely worth a listen and to be insered into a set. Great EP

V.T.O.L is incredible. Originally around 12 minutes long, this track has two different basslines. One is very soft and almost no bass, the other however is incredibly deep and throbbing. They alternate between them sharing a few minutes each each time. On this vinyl the track is edited to around 8 minutes but it has appeared in it's full length version on some CD compilations. The b-side is a 1997 version of another Technossomy classic released originally in 1994. The original was one of the first Goa tracks I heard. I like this remix too.Still V.T.O.L remains one of my favourite tracks ever!
