The Stone Roses - The DVD album flac

The Stone Roses is the debut studio album by English rock band the Stone Roses. It was recorded mostly at Battery Studios in London with producer John Leckie from June 1988 to February 1989 and released in May of that year by Silvertone Records. The Stone Roses was not an immediate success, but grew popular with the band's high-profile concert performances, which also helped establish them as fixtures of the Madchester and baggy cultural scenes.

The Stone Roses’ fierce self-belief is well noted but it never descends into ugly hubris on a record that restored color and swagger to late ’80s guitar music. In fact, the album’s great strength is its humanity as it portrays love ( She Bangs the Drums ), empathy ( Waterfall ), isolation ( Made of Stone ) and retribution ( Shoot You Down ). The music’s rooted in ’60s psychedelia but contemporary club culture and an ear for a groove synthesise spectacularly into beatific funk epic Fools Gold.

Instead, they fell apart – but first they made this incredible album, highlighted by the ecstatic eight-minute-long I Am the Resurrection. Sympathy for the Record Industry, 2001. The third album by Jack and Meg White was the right dynamite for a mainstream breakthrough. Jack’s Delta-roadhouse fantasies, Detroit-garage-rock razzle and busted-love lyricism, as well as Meg’s toy-thunder drumming all peaked at once. The stone-solid grooves on this underrated gem come courtesy of the Muscle Shoals rhythm section; the soulful guitar comes courtesy of Scaggs and guest Duane Allman.
