In an interview prior to the release of Six, Paul Draper stated that the "interlude" "Witness to a Murder (Part Two)" was included to separate the album into two parts as a tribute to old-style vinyl albums.

Heard that the record company didn't really like or 'get it' so pushed for the largely disappointing Little Kix to be made after.

Six" is a song by the English alternative rock band Mansun. The song was written by band-leader Paul Draper. It was recorded and produced by Paul Draper and Mark 'Spike' Stent with additional production by Mike Hunter during sessions for the group's second studio album.

The 1998 album has been remastered from the original tapes (by Jon Astley) and is presented alongside a disc of demos, rarities & outtakes (details TBC), the B-sides album ‘The Dead Flowers Reject’ and a DVD with a . surround mix of the album (along with hi-res stereo) and original promo videos

This U.S.-released version of "Six" is largely a strangely neutered affair; it features the short Arthur Baker mix edit of the song "Six", it's missing the tracks "Inverse Midas" and "Witness To A Murder (Part Two)", and most of the tracklisting is reordered. Oh, and the cover art is dumbed down to look like a page of a book (not that the original cover art was very good, but at least it felt like someone had put some effort into it). Granted, this is a remarkably difficult and confusing album to listen to for the unprepared listener, one that rebuffs casual attempts to permeate its chaos; so the record company's attempt to do anything possible make it more palatable to the average US "commercial alternative radio" listener is actually fairly humorous. Considering that much of the UK version of the album is intended to flow from one song to the next, the resultant altered tracklisting on the US version is a shrug-worthy jumble. That said, the songs are still great, obviously. It just isn't presented as the group intended.
