Bachman–Turner Overdrive II is the second album by Canadian rock band Bachman–Turner Overdrive, released in 1973. The album features the well-known single "Takin' Care of Business. Though it never cracked the Top 10 on the . singles charts (reaching in 1974), it became one of the band's most enduring hits and stayed on the Billboard chart for 20 weeks. The album also produced another hit single, "Let It Ride", which peaked at on the Billboard Hot 100 chart
Bachman–Turner Overdrive (1973 album). Bachman–Turner Overdrive is the self-titled debut album by Canadian rock band Bachman–Turner Overdrive, released in 1973. It was originally to be titled Brave Belt III, as Brave Belt was the name of the group before they became Bachman–Turner Overdrive. Although this album did not produce a true hit single ("Blue Collar" only managed to reach on the .
Bachman-Turner Overdrive and the Bachman-less Guess Who both got seven songs each onto the Top 40 (with the Guess Who actually accruing six additional songs which should have got onto mainstream radio), all found on The Best of the Guess Who, Vol. 2. Still, Randy Bachman's work and musical intuition cannot be denied, and when he chose to. chart, he did so in a big way. The two hits on this album and their follow-up, "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet," are staples on classic rock radio.
The irony is that Bachman-Turner Overdrive was conceived due to another, equally bitter feud. Einarson: Randy’s sole motivation in turning BTO into a success was to prove to Guess Who singer Burton Cummings that he was wrong when he publicly declared Randy would never make it in the music business. Burton had to eat those words. Not Fragile rocketed to the top of the US album chart, eclipsing to N. 8 position achieved by ‘Bachman-Turner Overdrive II’ and the first album’s N. 8. All three albums had been recorded and released in one hectic 18- month period, which was testimony to Randy’s unrelenting work ethic. Bachman-Turner Overdrive failed to work that same alchemy, and the imbalance of creative input and financial reward turned internal dissension into a fatal malaise.
