Luckily they paired this album with There is Nothing (perhaps their best cassette-era release, in my book, although many say "Sliding Gliding Worlds") as a 2-for-1 CD set (prior to that, sold separately on CD by Dovetail, and before that, part of the "Vitamin Enhanced Box Set").

This resulted in the third release, Live Ethereal Cereal, being a live compilation album of concerts between 1985 and 1986. The band's sound began to adopt a wider repertoire of music towards the end of 1986. This is especially illustrated on the fourth cassette release, There is Nothing. Songs now began to highlight a space rock vibe, with flavors of reggae. The music of Ozric Tentacles is a combination of driving basslines, keyboards and intricate guitar work, with a sound influenced by Steve Hillage and Gong. Many of the songs incorporate unusual time signatures and Eastern-influenced modes. This two-fer reissues a pair of Ozric Tentacles albums that were originally released only on cassette. The albums have undergone remastering for these releases, and sound quite good, with vastly improved dynamic and frequency range (though the low end on both could stand a little bit of improvement). Since these sets are legacy Ozrics, the sound is not quite as fully fleshed out as on the post-cassette releases, but the playing is still good - including everything from Hawkwind-like space rock efforts to fusion-laced reggae (or perhaps reggae-laced fusion).
