Yellow Submarine is the tenth studio album by English rock band the Beatles, released on 13 January 1969 in the United States and on 17 January 1969 in the United Kingdom. It was issued as the soundtrack to the animated film of the same name, which premiered in London in July 1968. The album contains six songs by the Beatles, including four new songs and the previously released "Yellow Submarine" and "All You Need Is Love".
The Beatles may have released Let It Be last, but their final work as a band was Abbey Road. It's definitive proof that the band broke up at the absolute height of their powers. Recorded in the summer of 1969 after the torturous Let It Be sessions, The Beatles knew that Abbey Road was going to be their last effort, so they put aside their differences to craft a masterpiece. Something" may well be George Harrison's single greatest song, while Lennon's "Come Together" and McCartney's "Oh! Darling" are near-perfect compositions.
The Beatles’ longest, strangest work is about to get a new look. According to Martin, The White Album sessions weren’t exactly the volatile trip that has been fossilized into Beatle lore. Sure, there were spats, including Starr leaving the group in a huff and heading to Sardinia on Peter Sellers’ yacht, or George Harrison recording over 100 takes of a song allegedly about McCartney’s controlling, repressive effect on him. But The White Album couldn’t have existed without the brotherhood that spawned their biggest hits.
The Beatles or "The White album" as it became better known was released on 22nd November, 1968 on the fifth anniversary of their second album, With The Beatles. A total of 34 new tracks were released in 1968 and 30 were contained on this one double-LP. Recording began at Abbey Road on 30th May and studio work occupied most of their time until the final.

John Lennon's pre-Beatles skiffle group, The Quarry Men, made a record in the summer of 1958 that features Paul McCartney and George Harrison and cost 17 and sixpence to make. 15. The Beatles were famously turned down by the Decca record label and instead signed for Parlophone. The band's publisher sent an anonymous tape from their later sessions to Decca to see if the label would be fooled into making the same mistake again (it wasn't).
The summer of 1967 has taken on a mythical magic, a psychedelic summer of love with beautiful people turning on, tuning in and dropping out on every corner. January brought Buffalo Springfield’s ‘For What It’s Worth’, while ‘I Feel Free’, which had been released in December ’66 released by supergroup Cream, climbed the charts. In March, as Frank Sinatra bagged the Record Of The Year Grammy for ‘Strangers In The Night’, Jimi Hendrix unleashed his ‘Purple Haze’ on the world ( Difficult to assess its commerciality said Melody Maker). And with that, the Summer Of Love had officially begun. Later in the month, The Beatles were called upon to represent Britain on Our World, the world’s first live international satellite TV show, which also featured Pablo Picasso and Maria Callas. Their message to the world was simple: all you need is love.
