Peter Moon was born on the island of Oʻahu to Wook and Shay-Yung Moon. From the late 1950s through the 1960s, he gained musical inspiration, insight, and knowledge; playing as a Maile Serenader with Gabby "Pops" Pahinui in the 1960s. Later, in the 1970s, he also served as Gabby's manager. Soon after, Moon became a founding member of The Sunday Manoa, along with Palani Vaughn, Albert "Baby" Kalima J. and Cyril Pahinui (one of Gabby's sons).

Notes

The release attributes "Alekoki" to John[ny] Noble, this differs with the attribution of this song for lyrics to King David Kalakaua and Prince Lunalilo and music to Lizzie Alohikea on the huapala.org web site which almost always has the most accurate information about Hawaiian songs. Similarly, "Ua Like No A Like" is almost universally attributed to Alice Everett rather than to Charles E. King (Chas. King) which is the attribution on this record.
