Echobelly - Lustra: Expanded Edition album flac

On was the second album from English rock band Echobelly. Gaining a favourable response from critics the album reached number 4 in the UK Albums Chart. The album title was inspired by a poster found by Glen and Sonya. The poster had the word "no" across it in blood red. By turning the word around, it became a positive, and thus decided to title the album On.

Similarly, no matter how they try to mature, Echobelly simply can't successfully develop their fusion of the Smiths and Blondie into something new. Unfortunately, they can't come up with many memorable hooks, either. There are a handful of solid songs on Lustra, but they lack the spark of "Insomniac" or "Car Fiction" - they simply sound tired. What makes this really disappointing is that Echobelly sounded fresh and inspired on both Everybody's Got One and On, but with their attempt to sound mature, they've snuffed out their spark

I have to admit that to this day I know relatively little about Echobelly although I own both On and Lustra (both highly entertaining efforts). I discovered them quite by accident, but I have always been so happy that I did. On is a very aggressive, driven, and highly creative record, with very distinctive vocals and lyrics.
