Kenny Rankin (February 10, 1940 – June 7, 2009) was an American pop singer and songwriter from the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City. Rankin was raised in New York, and was introduced to music by his mother, who sang at home and for friends. Early in his career he worked as a singer-songwriter, and developed a considerable following during the 70s with a steady flow of albums, three of which broke into the Top 100 of the Billboard Album Chart

While the long-out-of-print album only shows glimpses of his full abilities, it has a quaint, antiquated '60s charm and even includes liner notes from none other than Johnny Carson.

Kenny Rankin (Los Angeles, February 10, 1940 - June 7, 2009) was an American pop and jazz singer and songwriter, originally from the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City, New York.

His best selling work, The Kenny Rankin Album, barely creased the bottom of the Billboard Top 100 at in 1976. However, Rankin did have a long and illustrious career, and other musicians certainly knew his work. Rankin did not release his first album, Mind Dusters, until 1967. It’s a beautiful, understated masterpiece; sophisticated and quiet without being sappy. Rankin's fingers dance along the nylon strings with precision, without ever being fussy.

Cotton Candy Sandman Lyrics. Has anybody seen the cotton candy parade? I've been lookin' for a long time, I've gotta cool off in the shade And if you wander by you don't have to be afraid When you wish you could sprinkle the sandman with your own pink lemonade
